And if you miss the limited edition standard game, you'll get the DS Extraction game which is pretty cool with the PS Move. Sound track I haven't listened to nor really care about. You do get a cool suit and force gun to use right at the first store, which was really cool. the let lithograph is also a kind of a joke and looks more like a postcard.

Multiplayer is decent and I enjoy playing it in small doses, but it gets a little repetitive at times - still fun to play - just not nearly as good as the single player mode.Īs for the extras in the collectors others stated the plasma cutter replica is a complete joke, its Super Small, and poor-cheap quality. Im even going as far as saying its the best survival horror game in years. The variety of monsters you have to contend with plus the variety of weapons you can use to take them all down gives you all the action your trigger finger could ever hope for. If you liked the first one this ones even better (not tons but better for sure) I recommend playing with a good set of headphones in the dark! Sound in this game is out of this world! It's not that scary this time around as compared to the first but as I stated overall it's a better game. are all the best I've seen in a long time.

Pro tip: Basically everyone knows this, but disable in-game VSynch and enable Vsynch in Nvidia control panel to get past 30FPS frame lock on PC.This is an absolutely Amazing game! So if you're on here wondering if you should buy.BUY IT! The single player story is the best part and the story, graphics, action, etc. Pick this up, and ♥♥♥♥ yourself - all while appreciating the better UI. If you want to skip story on a franchise like this though.

Even if you haven't played through the first, you are never at a loss at to the significance of any detail (this might get grating for some, but just bear with it until that "standby" indication clears on the door). Zero-G movement has been completely revamped, and is very welcome - it doesn't feel like a chore to orient yourself or land. Exchanges go favorably seemingly directly to your reaction. Isaac does not control like a drunk geriatric, so that helps tense moments. Movement is fluid and you don't feel at all like you died to an "animation lock" like so many mention with the first iteration. Nearly ever aspect of game play is ratcheted up across the board.

The very idea of 'successor' in a series changed definition not long after this dev studio was butchered by the publisher, but not without letting this gem grace the screens of avid fans and newcomers alike. As EA used to say, "it's in the game." These days I think, it's in the game, but only if you have the extra money for it.ĭude. There's some extra content for it, all of which are handled through Origin. Co-op support is available, although the Origin launcher is required to purchase the game. If you're looking for a heavier focus on story and action, check out Dead Space 3. You need an EA account to play online however. Dead Space 2s thrilling campaign and intense multiplayer make it an excellent game and a worthy follow-up to its superb predecessor.

It has multiplayer, allowing your friends to play as a Necromorph, though I doubt many are still active. If you're looking for a mix of action & survival horror, check out Dead Space 2 if you haven't. Review: Although it is a formula that EA and Visceral Games barely changed at all, Dead Space 2 proves that there is a new king to the survival horror genre. If you're looking for psychological horror, play the original Dead Space- but beware of an invisible doorway early on that prevents you from progressing (unless you have VSync in-game turned on. Gameplay and controls were a step up from the first entry, but didn't drift far from aspects that made the first game so enjoyable. This one had the perfect balance between action-horror and psychological horror. A time when we weren't bombarded with microtransactions or forced to use two separate launchers to play a game. Or at least, the one that was released in a time when modern video games didn't suck. To this day Dead Space 2 remains arguably the best in the series.
